Junior Fitness Certification

Junior Fitness Certification is designed for children between the ages of 12-15. The purpose of the program is to
teach basic aerobic and resistance training principles and address proper exercise etiquette. By completing this
course the participants will be allowed to use appropriate cardio machines and do weight-resistance training using
machines. Once the children are certified they will be given a bracelet that will be worn and an exercise log book
that will be color-coded and updated quarterly.

Below is a list of weekly topics. Each is a stand-alone module allowing kids to enter the program at any time.

Lesson 2A - Understanding of Food Guide Pyramid
Lesson 2B - Understanding of Activity Pyramid
Lesson 3A - Heart Smart
Lesson 3B - Liquid Lookout
Lesson 4A - Walking/Cardiovascular Equipment Review
Lesson 4B - How Much to Eat/Review of Cardiovascular Equipment
Lesson 5 A/B - Strength Training
Lesson 6A - Toughen up
Lesson 6B - Cut the Fat
Lesson 7A - Chill Out
Lesson 7B - Most Important Meal of the Day
Lesson 8A - Review
Final-Written Exam/Practical

At the completion of the program, kids will receive their Junior Fitness bracelets, workout logbooks, and certification. They become eligible to obtain their own membership or add on to their parents' membership.
