The Merritt Tri Program is dedicated to helping new and experienced triathletes get ready for races from sprint to iron distance. Athletes in the club vary from people preparing for their first triathlon to Ironman World Championship Qualifiers. The program has a strong technique emphasis and also develops distance swim endurance.
In 2009, the average 5-month improvement in distance swim speed was 8%! Most athletes had more than that. Swim workouts are broken down by ability into four groups and each group gets appropriate coaching for their ability. Results are tracked with monthly testing.
